I have to say the way the "bus drivers" act when dollar coins are used is something that reached the boiling point last Friday. On the inbound route from Wynton road sitting behind the wheel was one of the rudest "drivers" that has ever questioned dollar coins. This driver sure acted like it was my fault the box was not calibrated, as other boxes are also not calibrated. Anyway, they "asked" me what it was I put in. Things got bad when they were told a dollar coin was used. This person almost, even being told a dollar coin was used. That I was somehow wanting to cheat the service, and almost demanded to see a coin. This harassment as happened since the coins were released I could not take the harassment any more. The driver was told to pull over at the station, and will discuss the matter with Lisa. This brought two reactions. First, somehow they thought police station was said. When they finally understood lisa goodwin was meant. I was "informed" that "I ain't got to stop. Because I am driving." When I got off the bus, foor some reason the driver took an excessive amount of time before leaving. In some ways not knowing what he said may be best. The attitude the driver gave was I should somehow be grateful he didn't kick me off. I have ask drivers ask me if this is an "american" coin. If that isn't a slap in the face. Then what is? I do not doubt some will say "If he didn't want the hassle. He shouldn't use the coin." That is such bull as to be sickening. The real problems are :ONE the machines are not all calibrated as claimed. Two: The drivers for reasons unknown do not "know" what a dollar coin looks like. EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE BEEN IN PRODUCTION FOR 18 MONTHS. Do you have to shove the coin in their face so they will "accept" them.
