Hello!

I work for the Center for Spoken Language Research, doing research in
speech recognition.  My current project is the CU Communicator, which
is an "over-the-phone spoken dialog system for accessing live airline,
hotel, and car rental availability and pricing."

We recently launched a new data collection page, as we are trying to
collect spoken data to make our system better.  So if you're interested
in spending 5 minutes to help speech recognition research, you can
participate in our data collection efforts, and get a chance to win $50.

The way it works is that you will fill out a short form with name, email
address, gender, whether you are a native English speaker, and whether
you will be calling from a cell phone, and once you submit the form, you
will see a new page with 50 randomly generated phrases to speak.  You
will then call our system and speak the phrases in response to prompts
given to you by our system.  Every 25th caller who completes the process 
will receive $50.

That's reason for the name and email.  Those data will not associated
with your spoken data in any way.
