Travel and research grants for pre- and postdoctoral research. If you look
on their web page, they also list other job opportunities.

IREX--A RESOURCE TO THE POLICY AND ACADEMIC COMMUNITIES ,WASHINGTON, DC-
The United States Department of State (DOS) under its,Title,VIII Program
has awarded the International Research & Exchanges Board,(IREX),a grant
to administer several American scholar programs involving,pre-doctoral
candidates, American specialists, and the US academic, community, overall.
The IREX programs funded by DOS Title VIII include Short Term,Travel
Grants, Individual Advanced Research Opportunities, and Policy,Forums.
These programs present opportunities for Americans to travel to,the
regions of Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia to do
field, research,as well as opportunities for them to present their
research and share, their, expertise in panel presentations. ,The
Individual Advanced Research Opportunities (IARO) program is at
the, core,of IREX's mission to provide support for US scholars conducting
research,in,Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia. The IARO program
provides grants,of,two to twelve months for both doctoral candidates and
senior scholars. By,supporting advanced, on-site research by US
scholars, the program, contributes to our body of knowledge on these
world regions for the, benefit,of the academic and policy communities at
large. ,The Short Term Travel Grants (STG) program provides support
to,postdoctoral,US scholars for visits of no longer than two months to
conduct research, present papers at conferences, or consult with
colleagues in the, countries,of Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia.
Work accomplished during, these, visits must demonstrate academic merit
and relevance and contribute to,the, body of knowledge of these regions
through the dissemination of research, results. ,As part of an ongoing
partnership between IREX and DOS to promote, dialogue, among academic
experts and policymakers, IREX administers the Policy,Forum,Program, the
goal of which is to bring the results of research to bear on,the conduct
of US public policy, technical assistance, and trade and, investment
programs with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and,Eurasia.
This program helps disseminate the results of advanced
scholarly, research specifically to the US policymaking community,
thereby helping,to,ensure that our foreign policy and assistance
programs are based on,informed, perceptions of the region. The forums
usually take place in Washington,DC. ,IREX is a Washington-based
international nonprofit organization with more, than 40 years experience
managing exchange and professional training, programs in Central and
Eastern Europe, China, and Eurasia. For more, information, visit our
website at <http://www.irex.org>.
