No, they are not.  But you cannot justfy homophobia on moral 
grounds without invoking religious reasons.  There is no
logical justification for homophobia and the only way it can
exist is when it is propped up with religious dogma.

You cannot make the connection between murder or robbery or
any other social ill and the possibility that same-sex
couples will marry.  It doesn't exist outside of the religious
imaginations of true believers.

The best you can say is "Well, it is wrong in itself."  But
the only support you can offer for that statement is "Jesus
tells me it is wrong."
