Mr. Sitongia - Let me respond to your two intriguing cases:

1) In the dim, dark past, even before there was any dirt on the
ground and long before I learned to wash and think for myself, I, too,
was a childish, immature, naive, liberal (or at least voted as one)
because I didn't yet pay taxes and didn't care who really paid for big
government. Sen. Campbell just took a little longer to come to his
senses than did I. Hence, I trust someone who is honest enough to
learn from mistakes, take bold risks, and evolve more than I do
someone who's beliefs and opinions have never changed since they were
children. I takes a bigger, better person to _admit_ to a previous
error and then move on with the correct decision, like Sen. Campbell
did when he became a Republican.

But It sounds like you prefer someone who has the deep, personal
integrity to stand their ground on tough issues, make the right
decisions that may be unpopular with his supporters, have rock solid
morals and scruples, who you can judge by his spouse and close
advisors, who have never run from service when our country calls,
who's word is their bond, who never vary from the truth, never waffle,
for whom who you know what they stand for, yesterday, today, and
tomorrow, someone you would trust with your teenage daughter,

Just like Bill Clinton. BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

2) By "special interests", I assume you are talking about all the
incestuous Washington based, inside the beltway, hardcore lobby,
special interest, and political action committees like the Sierra
Club, NEA, AFL-CIO, GreenPeace, Handgun Control, Inc., and the other
moneybag influencers that are corrupting our political system? Or,
corrupting Al ("I'm not bright enough to fool around like Bill") Gore,
who is firmly in the pockets of these wealthy eco-special interests
and, coincidentally the tobacco industry (they just grow green plants,
right?), as well. At least if we can see past his blatant hypocrisy
at the convention.
