You're absolutely right.  My use of the word "culture" was unwise.  My 
point (I'll try to state it well) was simply this: marriage as it is 
LEGALLY recognized in most of these United States carries a certain 
degree of privelege and respect.  Denying anybody this opportunity on the 
basis of sexual preference is discriminatory.  Polygamy strikes me as 
another issue entirely, because you're talking about changing the 
institution, rather than those who are entitled to participate in the 
institution.

My original post was simply to encourage people to contact Roy Romer and 
urge him to veto the anti-marriage bill.  I guess I felt beholden to 
reply to the "polygamy" issue because you brought it up in response to my 
post.  I stand by my original views, but ask to politely and respectfully 
bow out of the usual news group banter.
