Has anybody tried? Did anybody have success using a Symbolics
keyboard on a PowerMac?

I tried to attach the keyboard to my PowerBook.
The mouse cursor freezes at startup.

Also, you can't switch keyboards on the fly with the Symbolics keyboard
or use two keyboards (say, a builtin PowerBook keyboard and the external
Symbolics keyboard) at the same time.
