One could imagine a lot of stuff. I guess nowadays a
lot of systems are on the Internet. I'm still using
my Symbolics and I'm still writing code for it and with
it. And there are some good ideas for projects.
I don't know how many others are still active
users - my MacIvory is just to the right and
has stuff like CL-HTTP loaded - although there are a few things
it doesn't have (speed, character sets, colored UI, a web browser,
...). If there were still enough hackers around (or
even coming back), one could imagine more community
infrastructure. Basically I'm frustrated with the web (how
it works, how it looks and how it's being used)
right now - and the Lispm community (IMHO) has a good chance
to come back with something useful.

As a start for a community:

- a SLUG "site" (in the Lispm sense)
- a code repository for SLUG members, ready to be mounted via NFILE
- mail and web stuff on a central Lisp machine
- joint development via the Lispm mechanisms over the net
- a shared statice database (possible?)
- online docs
- a home for ALU (get rid of the Linux/ACL-idea - it
  has not happened in years)
- get the initiative back to the users
- people would be able to provide space and IP connectivity
- official "okay" from Symbolics

But I think there are not enough active users around.
