I used Farmers for 6 years and never had a problem. I had collision coverage on my truck and they wrote it off and promptly issued a check for the remaining value of the truck, not even bothering to notice the high milage and my rate hardly increased afterward (we were both declared at fault). Of course that was back in the late 1990s, I really don't know what they are like today. When I was a kid my family had coverage by a certain huge insurance company. So when I was 19 or something I wrecked the car and the thing was crumpled and the company decided to repair it rather than write it off. In the shop for weeks, gets out and a new problem develops, in and out for months and it was never the same again plus they never compensated for time the car was in the shop.
