or are they "completed"? every day i ride from the TR bridge up 
to cathedral, and it seems i encounter a constantly-shifting 
landscape of little tiny sand dunes every day: one day long
stretches of shallow sand, the next little patches of deeper
sand, and one very bad day some kind of bottomless pit about two
feet across just waiting for a victim.

i haven't even tried the stretch from porter up to tilden for
a couple of weeks...last time i did there were big deep piles
of sand that forced me to get off and walk through them.

it seems that there's evidence of activity, but since i don't
get there until after 7:00, i never see the elves doing the
actual work. if there are any.
