Effective Cycling Road I (aka "Cycling with Confidence") will be held the
next three Tuesdays (April 11, 18, and 25) from 6:30-9:30 PM at Thomas
Jefferson Elementary School in the City of Falls Church. This is an
excellent opportunity for valuable on-bike training in vital cycling
skills that make you safer, stronger, and more confident for all types of
riding. The registration fee ($32 for Falls Church residents, $42 for all
others) is quite reasonable for this nine-hour course. (Required course
materials from the League of American Bicyclists are purchased at cost
from me [$11/student] at the first session). Your investment in this
course will more than pay for itself if you avoid just one serious bike
crash as a consequence.
Weather permitting, we will be riding outdoors as much as possible for the
first 90 minutes of each class session, so participants should be ready to
ride when each session starts. Preregistration by Monday, April 10 is
required. Call Falls Church Recreation and Parks at 703-248-5077 to
register and for more information. A complete announcement of my
remaining spring and summer bike classes follows.
