>Does anyone know of a good brand of tires to get for a road bike that >has some good thread for going off road. I'd look into Conti Top Touring 2000s, they have a fairly low profile and the 28 mm or even 32 mm might squeeze into a modern road bike frame, but as always your mileage may vary. I use the 28s on my road bike and they work fine, but it's an older bike with plenty of clearance. They are good strong tires but they may require some effort to mount, depending on the rim. Some people like Avocets, also, but I never tried them. Any of the local bike shops should be able to try one on for you to see if it clears your frame and brakes. -- _______________________ALL AMIGA IN MY MIND_______________________ ------------------"Buddy Holly, the Texas Elvis"------------------ __________306.350.357.38>>cwhitman@texastwr.utaustin.edu__________
