Did you notice John Weeks' current area code? 612 -- Minnesota. This isn't the first time I've heard the same comment from someone out West. The view of the horizon over open plains or wheat fields in the mid-west, the view of mesas over expansive desert, the view of soaring blue white-capped mountains in the distance, and the view of the ocean along California's coastline (where people actually live and work, not just vacation to) all causes these people to, when they come to the East Coast, feel claustrophobic by what we consider to be vibrant lush greenery that masks out ugly buildings, signs, cars, etc. It's still difficult for me to comprehend, but they feel like the trees are in the way of their view, even if that view is the back of an Exxon. -- Michael Malak malak@claygency.com Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Share what you know.
