(preferably near arlington >or alexandria) As has been discussed in this group before, Cha Gio in Annandale (on Rte 50 about 1 mile inside the Beltway) is very good. My 6-year-old pronounced their Pho the "best soup in the world." I think it's good too :-) Even though it doesn't meet your criteria, for those of us who live in the far burbs of western Fairfax, there's a new place on Rte 50 in Chantilly (don't remember the name) which has pretty good Pho. It's tucked away in the shopping center with the F&M and SuperFresh, about just before you get to Centreville Road (heading west that is). Most of the stuff on the menu is Chinese, but the owners are Vietnamese, and will do some pretty good stuff if you ask for it. Very reasonable prices: a *large* bowl of Pho is $4.85.
