How about O'Briens?  I have never tried them, but I hear they're good.

There is a "little hole in the wall" place called Wayside Garden's Inn
on business route 7 in Hamilton, Va.  I emphasise the hole in the wall
because, unless you know, most people wouldn't stop there just by
looking at it. Very small, or I guess the proper word is intimate.
There are two booths, two to three tables that can be put together for
a "group", a high bar with 3-4 bar stools, and a low bar with 3-4
shorter bar stools. The beer line is displayed on the lower bar.
They also serve outside "on the patio" in the summer.

The owner Tim used to run a great deli in D.C. years ago--
He gets his ribs from somewhere in Minnesota, cooks em long and slow.
His wife make the really great desserts, has good-size BBQ sandwiches,
I believe only pork, fish, and other unusual daily specials which
are really good and imaginative.

You can go there with a big group, eat your heart out, and it won't
cost you a fortune.

By the way, you don't need reservations, you may have to wait awhile
in close cramped quarters, but it's worth it. The locals go there, and
Tim used to also deliver in the local area. You can leave your tux at
home, but you might not want to go there if there is a strong wind
blowing.
