Here are some moderately priced sit-down restaurants around College Park.
I'm not aware of any restaurant with cafe-style tables (I don't count
Sante Fe as a restaurant. I count it as a bar with a food alibi).
None of the restaurants have a particularly "elegant" atmosphere, but
the food is good and no one is going to throw-up on you :-)

Seven Seas - chinese restaurant. It has a good atmosphere and some of the
best chinese food in the area. Price range is $7-$15 for
an entree. Every dish I've tried here has been good.

Sichuan Cafe - chinese restaurant. Was the nicest chinese restaurant in
College Park until Seven Seas opened across the street.

Sir Walter Raleigh - Steak House. It's gone downhill a little since the
early eighties, but still serves a good steak and
a good salad bar. Price range is $11-$22 for the
steak and seafood dishes, which include the salad bar.
Atmosphere is not as formal as the other restaurants
		      in this chain.

Ledo's Restaurant - Italian food. Best pizza on earth. Atmosphere is
casual, sometimes loud. Can be very crowded. Worth
anything for the pizza though. The lasagna is also
pretty good. Prices range from $8-$16

Chef's Secret	- Seafood. Very nice atmosphere. Very good food. Sort of
		    pricey (but seafood generally is).

94th Aero Squadron - A world war one theme restaurant situated next to
College Park airport (2nd oldest airport still in
operation). The atmosphere is okay, but weekend
nights it turns (or turned, it's been a few years) into
a meet market. I think the food is overpriced.

Golden Bull - Steak House(?). It's been a very long time since
I was there (1982). I remember the food being good and
	       the atmosphere dark, but nice.

There's a Korean restaurant, name escapes me, in one of the hotels on
US1 north of 193. It's been given good reviews by people in this newsgroup.
I've never been though.

That should be a good start. Most of the above restaurants are moderately
priced and offer a pleasant sit down meal without having to drive very
far.
