Some of the Roy Roger's restaurants had stuff written into their leases about
the name of the restaurant. The shopping center realty management did not
allow Hardee's to change the restaurant name at some locations.
And, the franchisee-owned restaurants were not purchased by Hardees'; only
the Roy's -owned stores were. If Hardee's didn't own you, you didn't have
to obey Hardee's management.

Changing the name from Hardee's to "Hardee's breakfast and Roy's lunch/dinner"
has been in the works since December 1991, due to decreased sales.
