The address is 926-A West Broad St (Rt 7) Falls Church, (703)534-0095.
It is just 0.5 blocks east of West St, about 1 block east of the W&OD
trail crossing. The Panjshir Afghan restaurant is next door at 924
W. Broad St (703)536-4566. The only problem I noted about Panjshir is
that it is a bit on the small side and fills up quickly on weekend
nights. The first time I went there, there was a line out the door, so
my friend and I went next door to the Bangkok-Vientiane, which was
excellent. One other small pet-peeve about Panjshir is that when we did
eat there on a Saturday evening, at the end of the meal we felt a little
rushed to vacate the table. Probably because there was a line out the
door. Other than that, the food was worth the wait. So I guess the
secret is to visit Panjshir when it's not so busy. The Panjshir II
at 224 Maple Av W, Vienna is much larger and doesn't have that problem.
On the subject of Thai/Laotian cuisine, I'd like to mention the
Angkor Wat, a Cambodian restaurant at 6703 Lowell Ave, McLean, VA.
Phone (703)893-6077. It's about a block from the intersection of
Old Dominion Dr and Chain Bridge Rd. Cambodian cuisine is similar to
Vietnamese and Thai/Laotian, but has its own unique flavors.
