Hello, and AFAIK there aren't any (although you didn't say a great place
for dogs). Of course you can order a dog in a diner but Metro DC is not a
hot-dog, weiner, or frankfurter town (certainly not like my Pittsburgh
birthplace). It's a mid-atlantic problem - not far enough north or south
(as in great barbecue) or perhaps midwest. Perhaps not enough German
immigrants settled in this area (noting the lack of places offering German
cuisine). As a result we at best get mediocre examples of the cuisine of
which those other areas can rightly boast. If we include half-smokes in
the list then locally it would be Ben's but that's outside the area you
cited. OTOH you probably won't find any better examples of Chinese,
Vietnamese, Thai or Korean cuisine anywhere else than here in the metro
area. And those central/south American eateries do wonders with chicken
(I'm still searching for that perfect execution of a lomito sandwich,
though). Sincerely,
