Againn (aw Gwen) is the British style pub in in the old Houstons
location. They have a wonderful collection of beer but I was not
impressed with the food. It wasn't bad but just not wonderful.
Supposedly they make their own sausage so I ordered the Bangers and
Mash with an onion gravy. The bangers tasted like a smoked sausage I
would get at Giant. The mashed potatoes were fine and the onion gravy
had a rather nice vinegar hit. It wasn't bad but not up to the
description. I would have liked a sausage a bit more rustic to make
you feel like it's special and not mass produced.
My husband had the duck confit salad. Likewise, it was not bad but
nothing making us want to return.
Perhaps at another visit the food would be better but I'm not sure we
will return. Give it a try and report your experience. I'd love to
know.
