I've been to the Penzey's in Rockville and it's not bad, but the
selection is pretty incomplete and they seem to be working hard to
push spice blends. They _do_ have a better selection of cinnamon than
anyone else in town, but no vanilla paste at all.

Contrast their prices with, say, the prices at the Laksmi dealer down
the street, too. The Laksmi guys sell enough of the more common Indian
spices to keep the stock fresh.
