We tried The Oakville Grille and Wine Bar for lunch last week. It's
the new restaurant that is in the space which was occupied by
Geppetto's in the Wildwood Shopping Center in Potomac.
Gepetto's entrance in now down the side lane while Oakville entrance
is in the front on the main strip of the center.
It's a very pretty restaurant and very pleasant with nice
tablecloths/silver etc at lunch time. Most pleasant surroundings.
My husband had a grilled rare ahi tuna salad with shitake mushrooms,
napa cabbage, julienne carrots and ginger garlic vinaigrette. It was a
beautiful presentation. the plate had a salsa done in a medium dice. I
noticed what I thought was papaya so I took a taste. I don't care for
papaya and wanted to see how they had done this to match with the Ahi.
Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be ginger. It was quite
tender. It must have been macerated in mirin and maybe rice wine
vinegar. It was delicious. This dish was $12.

I had a grilled tenderloin salad which was 4 oz of nicely rare beef
tenderloin with mixed greens tossed in a delicious pinot noir-mustard
dressing and crispy angel hair potatoes. Delicious. Lovey dressing. I
had a glass of Pinot-Noir from the Russian River Valley area... I
don't recall the vintner. Fabulous lunch for $14

They have much more than salads; the luncheon menu includes
appetizers, sandwiches and well as fulll entrees. The service was
good.
I liked it enough that I am taking 5 of my girl friends for a dinner
out the next weekend.
