How far do you think it takes at 90? Try > it sometime, you'll be impressed. Got me out of my Pathfinder and back > into a car before yoou could say "Geez that's far." Only once did I have to slam my brakes at full force and it was because of a little girl in the middle of the street. It was a 25 mph zone but I was already taking my car's weight into consideration and I was going 15 that time. While cruising at 90, not once have I had to slam my brakes in my SUV. Why? Because I already made myself aware of my surroundings. > ;*}And I do 90 on my SUV regularly. Nope, not a Geo Tracker or anything like that - > ;*}it's an Isuzu Trooper Limited. A 5,500 pound car. Had I driven a Porsche, insurance companies will charge me up in the ass. No sense in doing that. I came close to buying a Benz E320 instead of the Trooper Limited, but the weight and bulk of the Trooper impressed me so I bought the Trooper. > And quite frankly, if somebody flashes me to pass me and I'm already doing > 10-15 over. Try a moose aviodance manuever at that speed, see > how many times, you roll. Why should I perform this stunt? There simply is no reason to. I used to live in Germany and had an Opel Monterey (believe it or not, a re-badged Isuzu Trooper) and have rented Benz E280's there. In the Benz, I drove at 200 to 210 km/h, but with the Monterey, I wouldn't go above 140 km/h (90 mph) and usually averaged at 120-130 km/h (80 mph). And why do Greyhound buses go around 80? Very few have crashed. Why so few? Because the drivers are well-trained and know the weight and capabilities of their vehicles. I have had two Troopers (well, three if you counted in the Opel Monterey) and still will buy another Trooper. And if you're on the left lane going 10-15 over, you're breaking the California law. If nobody's around you, the "slowest" vehicle applies to you - faster or slower, doesn't matter. However, if you're on the right, there's no way in hell I'd flash at you. You ever hear of "lane discipline" or are you one of these typical American drivers who know squat about driving etiquette? No wonder Americans are the laughingstock when it comes to driving. Richard
