For the Nth time, Earl, a *STATIC* (aka rolling) CoF of 1.0 is NOT
unusual for high quality tires on dry asphault or concrete roads.

Read this carefully Earl: A *rolling* CoF of 1.0 is *NORMAL*!
A *rolling* CoF of 1.0 is *TYPICAL*!
A *rolling* CoF of 1.0 is *EXPECTED*!

And BTW, Earl -- Northwestern University *NEVER* claimed otherwise;
if you are too ignorant/innumerate to apply their drag factor chart
correctly, that's NOT Northwestern University's fault -- so please
stop blaming them for *your* stupidity.

Since this discussion started, I've performed about fifty DIRECT
deceleration rate (G-Tech Pro) measurements on dozens of PA/MD/DE
roads using three ABS-equipped cars with three different sets of
tires (205/60HR15 D60A2; 205/55VR15 SP4000, 205/55ZR16 GS-C).

With Goodyear GS-Cs, EVERY measurement on EVERY dry road surface
exceeded 0.95g -- with the VAST MAJORITY in the 1.02-1.05g range.
The less sticky all-weather tires did almost as well, with *ALL*
trials in excess of 0.90g and a majority in the 0.95-0.98g range.

Guess what else, Earl? It rained today in PA, so I ran a dozen
tests with the GS-Cs on various wet road surfaces (old concrete,
old asphault, new asphault, damp, soaking wet, friggin' deluge!)
The results? EACH AND EVERY wet-road stop delivered OVER 0.8g --
including one trial in a *TWO-INCH-DEEP PUDDLE* on old asphault.

What's it all mean? Well, since *you claim* to have done CoF
measurements on ABS-equipped cars, and since *you claim* to have
performed the same tests on non-ABS cars, and since *you claim*
that your ABS and non-ABS measurements were normally within 0.05
of each other, and since *you claim* that your measured values
were "typically" 0.70-0.80 range (and SELDOM approached 1.0)...

That *IS* an accurate summary of your claims ...correct, Earl?
(Careful now -- DejaNews does *not* require a search warrant.)

I must conclude that you "gundecked" your test reports (that's
an old Navy term, Earl -- they prolly used it aboard Fletcher)
in civvy street, it's called "cooking the books". You've been
caught in the act, Earl! Naturally, there's a salty phrase to
cover that situation, too:

Earl, YOU ARE A LYING SACK OF SHIT. (No offence, of course.)

Tough brake (yuk, yuk), Earl, but there's ABSOLUTELY NO WAY you
could have measured 0.7-0.8 typical CoFs on an ABS-equipped car.
Yes Earl, Northwestern U. *does* list them as "typicals" -- but
they're *SLIDING* CoF, and you *CANNOT* measure a sliding CoF on
ABS-controlled stops. With ABS, you get *rolling* CoF -- which
is virtually *NEVER* as low as 0.80 on *ANY* dry road surface!

MS> So far, I have yet to find a point to challenge you.

In that case, you should prolly get your brakes fixed.

...or dump the Yugo,

Mark B.
