;*}Don't give in to the BS-mongers then. I refuse to call driving in excess of
;*}the speed limit "speeding." My definition of speeding is traveling too fast
;*}for reasonable safety given the local conditions. You're not going to find
;*}that definition in any law book, but who cares about law books?
;*}

Actually, you will in Montana. The day time speedlimit on Montana's
highways is a "Safe and Prudent Speed" based upon local conditions. i
drive through there often enough and have yet to get a ticket. last time i
drove through there i went by a cop in exess of 100 mph and he didn't so
much as bat an eye. And i looked at his speedometer (digital) to see how
fast i was going. He was going 100.

;*}>The truth is that "speeding" is a lying bunch of bullshit. One is only
;*}>"speeding" because someone jots a number down on a piece of paper and
;*}>prints it in a lawbook and someone in a car goes faster. Is that your
;*}>definition of speeding????
;*}

Speeding is based on the officers judgement. the reason that within 10mph
of the limit is usually not considered speeding is because at 70 MPH the
average non-calibrated speedometer reads 65MPH. Having a speedometer
calibrated is actually quite expensive for the manufactures, so they
generally only calibrate speedometers for law enforcement purposes.
