Two reports for you to debunk at your leisure, Earl. First, Solomon, D (1964) 
Accidents on main rural highways.......Us Dept of Commerce & Bureau of Public 
Roads.

Also, Cirillo, J.A. Interstate system accident research....... Public Roads 
(1968) 35 (3) 71-75. Hope that helps.
