How are the shoulders added in the middle of the bridge? If a concrete
barrier is seperating these multiple lanes, how are the barriers' ends
treated? I'm thinking impact attenuators on the ends of the concrete
barriers to protect the ends.

The wider bridge provides for some ability to keep traffic moving in
the event of an accident or routine maintenance, too.
