What about Atlanta? They have a public transit system, but nothing like Metro. It's modest by big city standards. They have more and wider roads than anyplace I have ever been. Yet Atlanta (a metro smallers than the DC metro) has terrible traffic. (Nobody loves to build roads more than the Georgia DOT). They are under a road building ban these days because pollution from congested traffic has created a severe air quality problems. The Wall Street Journal just printed an article calling them the next Los Angeles. If 18 lanes on I-75 didn't solve the problem for Atlanta, I don't know why you guys think a few extra lane miles in DC are going to solve problems there. -- ***************************************************** * Aaron M.
