And... Accidents don't always equate to bad driving....sometimes accidents are just *accidents*. I have Allstate, and when I slid my car down my (very steep) driveway and into a fence (in my own yard) during a freak freezing-rain episode (in Seattle!), they considered it an "at fault" accident and my rates went up. This despite the fact that I'd never had a claim before and had only one speeding ticket in five years. In this situation it wasn't a case of "bad driving" -- wasn't even on a public road. It was just a case of not checking whether that rain outside was turning into ice on the road. But Allstate wants to argue that somehow this means I'll probably have more accidents in the future, so it's time to raise the rates. Eric
