We need posted speed limits in city streets.  I don't think we need them
on most limited-access highways, except at certain busy locations where
there is much merging traffic.

What we do need on limited-access highways are laws against tailgating
and excessive lane-changing.  These are much more risky than simply
going at a high speed staying in your own lane.

Oh, by the way, the highways in Montana are mostly empty, so even a very
dangerous driver is likely to kill only himself and nobody else.
