I'm looking for commuting adviceL Right now I drive from 50 West and Washington Blvd. in Arlington to Rte 29 and Cherry Hill Rd. in Silver Spring. for my commute. My hours are typically 9:30 Am to 7 Pm. I've tried two routes: 1. 50W -> Key Bridge via Rosylyn -> Canal Rd -> Foxhall -> Nebraska -> Wisconsin -> Western -> Conneticut -> 495 -> Rte 29. -> Cherry Hill This is faster than you might imagine. Anywhere from 33 Min to an Hour with the morning average about 40-45. Evenings about 35. 2. 50W -> GW Parkway N -> 495 -> Rte 29. -> Cherry Hill This is much longer but takes a consistent 35 minutes because I can drive fast. Drawbacks are more gas burned and more miles on the car. One way I haven't tried is 50W -> Wash Blvd South -> 395 N -> New York Ave -> BW Parkway -> 495 -> Rte 29. -> Cherry Hill Anyone know how long this runs? Also, does anyone out there know if I have reasonable public trans options? My guess is that I could walk to the Court House Metro, Ride blue/yellow to Metro Center, switch to Red, ride to Silver Spring, grab a bus to Rte 29 and Cherry Hill, and walk to work. My guess is at least 1&3/4 hours. I would consider car-pooling if there was someone out there with a similar commute.
