Exactly. Here in Ontario on the 400 series highways the cruising speed of
ALMOST ALL MOTORISTS IS 140KPH.Or approximately 80-85 mph. However the
speed limit is posted on the 400 series at 100 klmsph. (62mph)Cops don`t
seem to bother anybody at that speed (conditions allowing ) unless you
are cutting in-out of traffic and doing other stupid things.Especially
through Toronto. If they put too much pressure on here they have only
induced massive traffic jams and MORE acccidents because of their
presence. The only time you have to be a little more alert is the last
weeek of the month when they have to make up their quotas and most
drivers are cognizant of this and act accordingly but the cruising speed
never drops below 120klms ph(75mph.)

When I went to B.C. last year it was a real pleasure to drive
through Montana. I set the cruise on my `86 accord to about 160- 170kph
(100-110mph) and had no problems. The only place we slowed down was when
we approached a city or town and the speed limits were posted .Of course
if you saw another car every 5 miles ,that was a traffic jam ., so the
conditions were tops for high speed cruising.I was only passed twice on
my sojourn through this beautiful state, once by a late model Mercedes
and another time by a big old Buick out of the past.
