You are so full of it, Rahul. Unbelievable.

I think this is wasted on someone who thinks he's such a good driver, but
here are the facts. Fact: in the first situation, I was passing the truck.
Now, no matter how quickly I pass him, there is a brief amount of time where
I am in his blind spot. And for someone who says changing lanes is unsafe,
please tell me how you make sure there is no traffic on your left or right.
You are the one who's bitching about California's roads being crowded.
Please explain to me how if a road is crowded you can ensure that there is NO
traffic on your left or right.

In the second situation, when the light has been green for a while, you're
damn right I don't check for cross traffic. If I did, I'd be stopping at
every freaking light, and probably end up getting rear ended as a result.

Rahul, your so called ways to prevent accidents are crap. You know why
they're called accidents, buddy? Because sometimes, you just can't help it.
Sometimes, you'll be stopped at a red light and some dork won't stop and
he'll come plowing into the back of your car.
