For US citizens I don't see how printing them is significantly different than now. It's just a different manufacturing process. IF assault weapons are illegal they are illegal. Making something illegal has never stopped people from making/having stuff. This might make it a little easier in some ways to "be illegal" but it seems likely that 1 - not very many people will shell out the cash for the printer and it would be cheaper to buy a real gun. 2 - I suspect any gun "printed" like this will not be very durable. If you start looking at "rebels" in countries that have hobnail boots then it gets a lot more interesting. The UN just voted for that stupid "small arms" control treaty. Which is really just eyewash for all those gvt's wanting to make sure their citizens are disarmed. This will facilitate arming them. Of course, many of those countries will probably make buying these printers very difficult without gvt approval. So will it be easier in those countries to figure out a way to buy one of these printers or will it be easier to just go buy a box of real guns. Then there is the acquisition of ammo. That can't be printed (anytime soon). Those same countries will also be watching ammo so if you have a way to get around that problem you probably have a way to get around the problem of getting real guns too.
