When Washington, DC
Became Majority Black

In the 1950s, as a little boy growing up in Washington, DC, I remember
visiting the White House with my family in late December just before the
holiday season.
Americans would come from throughout the United States to tour the
visitors section of the White House.

Before we went inside to begin the tour, we left our holiday gifts and
packages on the floor of the outside hallway, along with hundreds of
other tourists who left their packages there as well.

The packages were left completely unguarded but no one had any fear that
they would be stolen - and they never were.

Welcome to Washington, DC in the early 1950s, where the city's
population is still two-thirds white and where public facilities,
schools and neighborhoods are still racially segregated.

In these pre-civil rights days, our city's black minority was afraid to
do anything to arouse the anger of the white majority.

I went to Catholic parochial school every morning by myself when I was 9
years old.

My parents never feared for my safety.
Then in 1954, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Brown v. Board of
Education that racial segregation in public schools is unconstitutional.

The Supreme Court ruling itself was grossly unconstitutional in that it
unilaterally reversed all prior Supreme Court rulings, and it imposed
its socialist integrationist philosophy on autonomous state and local
governments.

Following the Supreme Court's obscene and un-American 1954 decision, the
public schools of Washington, DC were racially integrated.

It was the beginning of the end for our nation's capital, which until
then had been a beautiful city.

Although the Supreme Court ruling did not apply to parochial schools, I
could no longer walk to school alone.

Black students attending public schools in white neighborhoods would
roam the streets in packs.

One morning, while I was walking to school, four older black students
beat and robbed me.

Mrs. Humphrey, a young mother and schoolteacher who lived across the
street from us, was brutally raped and sodomized by five black high
school students two days after my beating.

Mrs. Humphrey was left bleeding, naked and unconscious on a street alley
after her black attackers had finished gang-raping and sodomizing her.

Although she survived, she had a nervous breakdown and had to be
institutionalized.
The five black rapists were sentenced under the extremely lenient
juvenile laws of the 1950s to serve a maximum of only two years in
juvenile "rehabilitation centers."

The black racists were laughing as they were sentenced.

My family was finally forced to move from Washington, DC to suburban
Maryland.
But it was difficult to sell the house because of the "changing
neighborhood."

Even white liberals who claimed to be so devoted to racial equality,
integration and "civil rights" did not want to live in an area where
violent black crime was claiming more and more victims.

We finally sold the house - at a loss - to an elderly couple who
moved to Washington from Boston so that they could be close to their
children and grandchildren in northern Virginia.

A few years later, we learned that this elderly couple was shot to death
by black burglars who broke into their home in the middle of the night.

Everyone knows by now what happened to Washington, DC after most of its
white residents fled in terror.

The city where there was virtually no crime became the murder capital of
the United States.

Washington - along with every other major city with a black majority,
such as Detroit, Atlanta, New Orleans and Newark - soon developed a
murder rate that was 40 times as great as the murder rate in
overwhelmingly white European cities.

In the late 1980s, I decided to visit my old block that I grew up on in
the Washington of the 1950s.

I wanted to see the changes with my own eyes after 35 years.

The house we had lived in was all boarded up and in ruins.

Some houses on the block were burned to the ground.

I saw a group of blacks standing on the corner, talking to each other
and listening to loud music.

The old parochial school was still there, but now it was surrounded by
barbed wire fences, surveillance cameras and other electronic security
devices.

Despite the metal bars on the school windows, some of the windows were
broken.

The walls of the school were completely covered with graffiti.

Someone spray-painted over the front wall of the school in huge letters:
"Zulu Nation."

I shuddered when I saw those words.
For I knew that Washington, DC and many other major American cities had
in fact become part of a Zulu nation.

What will happen to my children and my grandchildren, I thought to
myself, when the United States loses her white majority and all of
America becomes part of a Zulu nation?

presence. Everything the Blacks touch goes sour without exception.
