Though it has received less attention than e-commerce, e-politics
should not be left out of the privacy debate! 

Indeed, one can argue political activity is more deserving of a zone
of privacy than is commerical activity. As techniques for compiling
and distributing personal political information become more
sophisticated, and as private information becomes more readily
accessible, it is important to look at its affect on political
participation and organization in our political system. 

The Task Force of the Democracy Online Project
(http://democracyonline.org) recently held a debate on this topic.
After listening to leading thinkers debate the impact of electronic
profiling on civic participation and campaign practices, we hope to
continue this conversation on-line and are looking for input on this
topic from other interested parties.
