Wanting to Do Voiceover Work

Advice please. I have for some time been wanting to see about getting into the
voice-over/narration biz. However, I have neither the fortune nor the production talent
at my disposal to manufacture and distribute crateloads of demo tapes, and certainly
not of the quality I've heard professionals create.

Is there an easier way for a newbie (albeit with some training) to get his product
before producers/consumers of voice talent?

Any and all advice would be most appreciated.

And if you're reading this and thinking, "We need a male voice, very resonant, flexible,
from someone who takes direction well," by all means, EMAIL ME.

Thanks.
