i'm mike eacobacci, a staff sports reporter at the Diamondback, the
univ. of maryland's independent student daily. i think a cool topic would
be sharing humorous journalistic experiences.

here's one: last year, when i at a Society of Professional Journalists
discussion at ABC studios in D.C. well, being a young'un, i was kind of
bored stiff at the discussion... so three other officers and I wandered
out into a lounge adjacent to the speaking area. well, a wonderfuly
gracious older gentleman from ABC, seeing we were bored stiff, said "Hey,
you guys wanna meet Sam Donaldson?" well, it took us about 1.3 seconds to
respond unanimously "YES!" so we went to Donaldson's office and sat down
and chatted with him for a good fifteen minute before he went on the air!
he really is a vibrant person. we could tell he just loves what he does.
and he was quick to quip jokes as we talked. that was great.
