The Library, for over 80 years, has been providing awesome music for
the public for FREE. Seriously, didn't know? Neither did I until a few
months ago! It's some really cool stuff, last week we had Roseane Cash
do a tribute concert to her father (Johnny Cash) and in a few days the
Harlem Quartet will be playing the Library's Stradivarius violin,
viola and cello.

The 2008-09 Concerts from the Library of Congress season
presents a stellar lineup of more than 40 free events inspired by the
resources of the world’s largest music archive of more than 22 million
items. Celebration is a key theme for the Library's 83rd season, with
special projects honoring the 100th birthday of Elliott Carter, the
centennial anniversary of Olivier Messiaen, major anniversaries for
Franz Joseph Haydn and George Frederic Handel, and a 16-event series
marking the bicentennial of Felix Mendelssohn.

In addition to the concerts In October we started a new lecture
series. The Library of Congress presents a thought-provoking two-year
cycle of lectures and special presentations that highlight an
explosion of new research in the rapidly expanding field of
"neuromusic" call Music and The Brain!

Everything is presented free of charge to the public. Which, is kinda
awesome.
