Hi, folks. I'm looking at setting up an old (PII) machine as a firewall for my home network (cable modem and wireless hub). I've got one Linux PC, one Windows XP PC, and a dual-boot WindowsXP/Linux machine. The Linux PC is the PII and it will be sacrificed to the need for a firewall. It has a 10 gig hd in it right now, but I have a 4 gig I could use if 10 gig is overkill. The firewall I'm looking at requires only 2 gig... I'm interested in what you use and would suggest for a set-up like mine. ~ I am most interested in a product (GPL) called SmoothWall Express (http://www.smoothwall.org), so if you have tried it, or looked into in and rejected it, I'd like to know more about your experience with it. Other than reading their manuals online, I haven't invested much in SmoothWall, so if you have other suggestions, please share them.
