after it finishes compiling, one of the last lines to appear mentions
the location of zImage.  it ought to be found in (assuming an intel
arch.)

/usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/zImage

that's where I get all the images I use.  I boot with LoadLin instead 
of LILO, so "make install" doesn't do much for me.
