As a new user of Linux, I have managed to get my system to boot up under Linux (using Lilo, I can decide between DOS and Linux), and many of the basic disk sets are setup--including apparently the n set which give me telnet and ftp, though only in loop-back i.e. I can telnet to conexos (which is the name of my system). But I have not yet figured out how to access my modem. Would anyone be willing to suggest how I configure to access my 28.8 modem on Com 2, and connect to a PPP account which I have recently opened? I have Linux Unleashed, but this does not give sufficiently detailed instructions on modem and networking operations...If you are unable to give me a lead, perhaps you can recommend another book? Thanks for the time... Randy Wells wellsr@guvax.georgetown.edu
