Need help with running from CD-ROM

I would like to run some of the Slackware disk sets from the CD ROM to
save hard drive space. During setup, there is an installation option
called "link2cd" that sets up symbolic links to a live file system on the
Slackware CD. Problem is, the install program assigns links to files that do
not seem to exist on my CD ROM i.e. there is no "live" directory on the CD.
The CD ROM drive is recognized fine and mounted correctly.
Am I doing something wrong?
