At first, if I clicked on the hyphen-in-a-circle = leftmost button at the top right of a window in Gnome, it would put a little icon on the bar across the bottom (the panel?), the one that appears and disappears acording to whether the mouse pointer passes over it; now it doesn't. What setting where have I changed, fooling around one day when I shouldn't've? How do I change it back?
