It's been (yikes) a few years since I've been to one, but my wife and I
used to go to the concerts at the National Gallery of Art on Sunday
night. Usually 7ish. Usually it's a recital or a small group, but a few
times a year the National Gallery of Art Orchestra fires up. You usually
have to get tickets beforehand, and generally they are available Sunday
afternoon. And it's free. (We typically combined it with a day of museum
hopping and early dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe; riding Metro in and out.)
See the Weekend section of the Post or the City Paper when you can (the
City Paper is usually out by Thursday). I think the orchestra played a
few weeks back so it's probably a small group so tickets should be
available this Sunday (though the orchestra usually plays once in
December).
