Hi to any netters that read this newsgroup. (I am not sure you exist) Anyway, I read in today's Post about a new film (presumably an Omnimax film) opening October 9th at the Air and Space Museum called "Fires of Kuwait". I for one am eager to see it. -John

It is not surprising the number of personnel who have become ill with lung diseases after working there. You think breathing hydrocarbons from cigs is bad, try breathing airborne droplets of the stuff. (Three quarters of the firefighters in the Nat. Geo. movie were smokers to boot!!!) I guess their motto is live hard, die harder. Susan shoaf@clinpharm.niaaa.nih.gov

I saw this film at a preview about 2 weeks ago. I had no idea of the devastation that was occurring during the fires over there--from the smoke & heat to the filthy oil covering much of the land. Secondly, it was really neat to see all the different ways that the firefighters put out the fires. There were some really spectacular explosions! I'd recommend this film to anyone interested in firefighting & also to those con- cerned about the effects the fires had on the environment. alice ritter = arritter@madhatter.cber.nih.gov
