I've recently purchased an Asuscom ISDNLink 128K Adapter, and although it works fine in Windows 98, I appear to be having some difficulty getting it working in Linux (RedHat 6.0, 2.2.13). I've downloaded and compiled the version 3.1beta7 of isdn4k-utils, and have set up some scripts as described on Oakhaven Consultants web page, at http://www.thennion.demon.co.uk/ISDN.html, and am using the driver modules that came on the CD with the card. I'm performing the following commands to try to start the link: insmod -f isdn insmod -f hisax id=ISDNLink type=35 protocol=2 isdnup isdnctrl dial ippp0 When I run isdnup, it reports the following: addif: No such device Security for ippp0 is on Hangup-Timeout for ippp0 is 180 sec. Layer-2-Protocol for ippp0 is hdlc Layer-3-Protocol for ippp0 is trans Encapsulation for ippp0 is syncppp ippp0 bound to 0 HiSax: No such device SIOCADDRT: File exists Somewhere in that may be a clue as to what's causing the problem, but I'm afraid I'm too much of a novice with this to be sure. The end result is that when I run isdnctrl, I get an E001B error, followed by a local hangup. Can anybody give me any hints as to what I should try next? Don't rely on the drivers that came with the card. Look for the file isdn.tar.gz in the isdn4k-utils directory. Un-tar it . cd to isdn and run std2kern. This will copy the drivers over the ones in the /usr/src/linux/drivers/isdn. Redo your make modules and make modules_install. All this assumes you have the kernel sources present, mind.... But since you're on 2.2.13 instead of the Redhat 6.0 supplied 2.2.5, then I guess you have... If that doesn't help, I'll grab my scripts and post 'em here next time I go into Linux.

Ta for offering, but I don't think that'll be necessary as I seem to
have got it working now, after some advice from someone on the
isdn4linux mailing list.
The main problem was that I was assigning an id to the hisax module,
then not using this id in my scripts.
The other (easier to spot) problem was that my pap-secrets was set up
just for ppp0.
Thanks for the tips, anyway.
