Ok, folks, I have another Crosspoint question. I have a *working* "multiuser" crosspoint setup; for now, only the 'f' protocol works, which gives about 920 cps on a 9600 connection, on text files. This is not too great, but phone call is *local*, so this is not a problem. I have changed most of the wait times for the modem to smaller, more reasonable values. For example, the "wait between redials is set to 8 seconds" as that is more than sufficient here. Now the QUESTION: When I do a "Netcall", modem connects, uucp.scr script is used, mail files are transferred, successfully. THEN CROSSPOINT SIMPLY SITS AND WAITS! For as long as 100-120 seconds. Only after this time it starts to process the files it just downloaded. How can I reduce this wait to more like 15-30 seconds? What parameter do I need to change? This is IMMEDIATELY after UUCICO has finished transferring files. Thanks a lot. --raj (raj@shiela.com)

I think this is a problem of your link, talk with him, if he doen't want
install the g-protocol.
with text files it will be possible to use the modems V.42b online
compression, have a look in your handbook of the modem and set it, don't
forget to increase the Baud rate fron your computer to the Modem.

hm, which OS are you using?
I had a simliar problem a few days ago under OS2, the DOS-Box was
crashed...
with DOS it should work fine, perhaps the load of your link is very high,
so it can't serve his communication ports fast?
Bye
Stefan
