Thanks for providing this!  

How can I extend colt by adding new classes?  For example it provides
OpenIntIntMap, but suppose I want an OpenCharIntMap.

I was hoping to find a "template" file for maps which would
contain lines such as:   
   public <VALUE_TYPE> get(<KEY_TYPE> key) {
Then I would do a macro substitution to produce a particular class.
I hope the *Map.java files were produced in some such mechanical way.

Does such a template file exist?  If so how can I get it?

Also the doc for Map discusses using Chained addressing, but all the
classes provided use Open addressing.  
Is there an example of Chained addressing included anywhere?
