Sehr wahrscheinlich ist das Modem nur voellig falsch konfiguriert. Das 
einfachste ist es, Du besorgst Dir ein Programm das das Modem automatisch
konfiguriert. Z. B. Modem-Init 2.65 von Juergen Meyer. U.a. zu haben in der
D-Box Hamburg (040/8324543). 

Ich habe mit meinem Modem (dasselbe Modell) keinerlei Probleme. Es
laeuft mit der EPROM Version 1.05 (festzustellen mit ATI1, ATI6, ATI8).
Die neueste EPROM Version liegt auch in der D-Box. Ob die Sachen auch schon
auf FTP Servern liegen, weiss ich leider nicht.
